Our 8 Eye Boot's leather alternative is made with waste from commercial pineapple farming. This nearly closed-loop fabric prevents the scrap from being incinerated which would result in increased methane production. Not only does this create a new, clean revenue stream for local farmers, but once the fiber is up-cycled, remaining biomass is then leveraged as fertilizer and biofuel.

The corn-derived PLA fibers used in creating the mesh are biodegradable, unlike most leather alternatives. The fabric is dyed black using GOTS certified pigments. Following C2C's guidelines, no toxic materials are used in its production process.

This fabric is 100% free from animal products.

PACKAGING

# GI - 4301 - 19 - 161 is securely wrapped in our signature OEKO TEX-100 certified linen Tsuno Bag and then placed in a post-consumer shippable shoebox. Water-based biodegradable tape is used, and no excess paper is included.

PERFORMANCE

Our unique textiles behave similarly to an ultra-heavy weight canvas; the boots are robust and will break into your foot's shape. They are hydrophobic, but not water-proof; the combo is a breathable non-woven mesh best suited for spring, summer, and autumn.
